Oil packaging is a hard environment for a label. The bottle gets oil on the outside at the filling line and again every time it is used; it sits in unheated warehouses and on garage shelves; and it is squeezed, dropped and stacked. Paper goes translucent and peels. We print lubricant labels on synthetic paper, and we test them for oil resistance in our own laboratory before they go out.

Why synthetic paper
It prints like coated paper — full-colour, sharp text, foil and varnish all work — but it does not absorb oil, does not tear, and stays opaque when wet. For squeezable HDPE bottles it conforms without wrinkling. Where a glossy film look is preferred, BOPP is the alternative from the same line.
