Blood Bag Labels

A blood bag label has two jobs that ordinary labels fail at: it has to hold on to a flexible PVC bag from room temperature down to blood-bank cold storage, and it has to keep every barcode and every character readable after being wiped with alcohol. We supply labels built for exactly that, and we supply medical customers today.

What it has to survive

ConditionWhat we specify
Cold storageLow-temperature adhesive that holds on PVC without edge lift at refrigerator temperatures
Alcohol wipingFacestock and print that stay legible after repeated wiping
Flexible bagConformable face that follows the bag without tunnelling or creasing
ScanningBarcode contrast and edge sharpness verified in our own inspection

Blank or pre-printed

Most blood-bank labels carry variable data — unit numbers, blood group, collection and expiry dates — printed on site. We supply blank die-cut rolls sized for the bag and matched to your printer. Fixed content (institution name, warnings, layout grid) can be pre-printed by us so your on-site printer only adds the variable fields.
