Polyimide Labels

Polyimide is the label material for anything that goes through a reflow oven. Paper chars and PET softens and shrinks, but a polyimide facestock with a high-temperature adhesive comes out of a 260 °C solder profile flat, legible and still stuck to the board.

We print polyimide labels on our own PS plate presses and die-cut them to your PCB footprint. Blank labels for thermal-transfer overprinting, or fully pre-printed with your part numbers, logos and 2D codes — both from the same line.

Where they are used

  • PCB and PCBA identification through wave and reflow soldering
  • Serial and lot tracking on components that see repeated thermal cycling
  • Electronics assemblies where the label must survive the same oven as the solder
  • High-temperature process tracking in automotive and industrial electronics

One of our long-standing polyimide customers is a leading consumer-electronics manufacturer in Shandong, where the labels ride through the SMT line on every board.

Blank or pre-printed?

Blank polyimide with a matt coating is the usual choice when serial numbers change per board — you overprint them on a thermal-transfer printer with a resin ribbon. If the content is fixed (a part number, a logo, a warning), we pre-print it: sharper text, no ribbon matching, and one fewer step on your line.

What to send us

Label dimensions, the board’s reflow profile (peak temperature and dwell), whether you overprint, and artwork if pre-printed. We will confirm the facestock and adhesive and send a sample roll before you commit.
