When choosing the label of carbon tape, first of all, you need to determine the use of carbon tape to select color base (wax-based, mixed, or resin-based), width, and length. In order to achieve the best printing effect and save cost, the following aspects should be considered:

1. Use the environment of label
The applicable environment of the label involves friction resistance, corrosion resistance, high-temperature resistance, etc.
Resin-based carbon has excellent friction resistance, corrosion resistance, and water resistance;
The durability of wax-based carbon tape is the worst in terms of friction resistance, corrosion resistance, and water resistance, but the price is relatively low.
The friction resistance, corrosion resistance, and water resistance of the mixed carbon tape are between the two, and the price is also medium.

2. What printer to use
In thermal transfer printing mode, the carbon tape and label paper are consumed synchronously in the length direction. The width of the ribbon should be greater than or equal to the width of the label paper and less than the maximum printing width of the printer. Due to the size of each printer, the maximum roll length that can be loaded and the maximum width that can be printed are also different. In addition, the working temperature of the print head and the sensitivity of the carbon tape will also have a great impact on the final printing effect.

3. What material is printed on
The coated paper surface is relatively rough, usually choose wax-based or mixed base carbon belt. While the surface of PET is generally smooth with resin.

4. Required durability
If you want to print the label content with better durability, you should choose resin-based carbon tape. The durability of wax-based carbon tape is the worst, and the mixed based carbon belt is between the two.

5. Printing costs
Generally speaking, the cost of a wax-based carbon belt is the lowest, the cost of a resin-based carbon belt is the highest, and the cost of the mixed carbon belt is between the two.
